Players will be happy to know that the game will be a side-scroller like Turtles in Time, only with some cool changes to allow more freedom. The cooperative beat 'em up was immediately followed by the negatively received Tournament Fighters in 1993, which put a plug in the series till the 2004 movie tie-in for the film TMNT. The alternative cover for TMNT #102 shows that the IDW's Ninja Turtles had this game in its Xbox 360 version.Fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brand know that the last great video game to come from the franchise was the popular SNES port of Turtles in Time back in 1992.Near the end of the game, the classic catchphrase “ Turtle Power!” is used.This was even before the executive producers of the television series that introduced them publicly addressed those aliens at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con.

This is the first time that the Salamandrians, the race of aliens that Newtralizer is one of, has been mentioned in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.

There is also a moment where Newtralizer mentions that Salamandrian tech is the deadliest in the 10 dimensions.
